Refer a Player

               HGSL is committed to serving our community of girls. We strive to grow our league so that we may provide the best opportunities to all HGSL players. We are offering a refer a new player incentive.

Every current HGSL player that gets a new to the league player to register for the spring season gets $10.00 off their tuition.

Please email Hgslboard@gmail.com with your players name and the new players name. After the new player registers you will be reimbursed the $10.00 per player.

2025 Spring season scholarship.

               HGSL is rewarding a limited number of 2025 Spring Season Scholarships to applicants. These applicants should display the values above in our mission statement. In order to apply please email the board at Hgslboard@gmail.com with the following information.

• Players Name,  and phone number
• A 1-2 page essay written by your child or said by your child in their own words why they want to play softball, and what softball means to them. What they would like to do in their future.

The objective of the Haverhill Girls Softball League is to provide an instructional, spirited and enjoyable experience in the sport of softball to benefit local girls ages 5-15 years. 

The league strives to provide girls with the level of skill necessary to play softball at higher levels of competition, while also providing girls with opportunities to play in a structured league. 

The Haverhill Girls Softball League is looking forward to a great season of youth softball.

Our Divisions based off usa softball age chart. Age brackets sept-august

• Little Ladies U6 Division ( DOB 09//01/2017-08/31/2019)
  • This group of girls will hit off of a Tee
  • Each batter should have the opportunity to hit 3 or 4 ball before her last hit will be declared “live”. At that point, the batter will run to first base after her hit and the defensive team will field the ball and attempt to get her out.
  • Girls are required to wear defensive fielding masks, this will speed up their development of fielding and catching the ball.
  • Girls in this division would have the ability to move up to the U8 division. She would have to show an exceptional ability to physically and mentally play the game.
• Little Ladies U8 Division (DOB 09/01/2015- 08/31/2017)
  •  Game Style play. See 10u Rules. 
  •  The Tee, can and should be used for an at bat, should the batter be struggling
  •  Girls in this division will be required to wear defensive fielding masks.
  • Girls in this division would have the ability to move down to the U6 division if it’s their first year playing of if they just are uncomfortable and can’t be playing safe with more experienced players.
• U10 (DOB 09/01/2013-08/31/2015)
  • Pitchers stand from 35' away, Coach will pitch if 3 straight walks occur. 
  • Players will play with an 11" ball, game is played live.  Players should try every position.
  • Girls in this division will be required to wear defensive face masks. 
• U12 (DOB 09/01/2011-08/31/2013 )
  • Pitchers will stand 40' away
  • Players will use a 12" ball, game is played live.  
  • Girls in this division will be required to wear defensive face masks
• U14 (DOB 09/01/2009-08/31/2011)
  • Pitchers will stand 43' away
  • Players will use a 12" ball, game is played live, Similar rules to High School Softball, ideally used. 
  • Girls in this division will be required to wear defensive face masks. 

ALL SOFTBALL HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE FRONT CAGES- no exceptions.
